(Eagle News)– Superintendent Marvin Marcos, one of the accused in the killing of Albuera Mayor Rolando Espinosa, officially took over as officer-in-charge of the police Criminal Investigation Group (CID) of SOCCSKSARGEN region on Monday (July 17).
Marcos, who was out on bail for his homicide case, paid a courtesy call to Region 12 police chief Supt. Cedrick Gayona Train.
Marcos was head of Philippine National Police-Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (PNP-CIDG) Central Visayas last November when he and 18 other officers conducted a search at the Leyte sub-provincial jail where they shot dead Espinosa and another inmate, Raul Yap.
At a press conference, PNP chief Director General Ronald Dela Rosa said there is a possibility that Marcos would still be replaced from his post if his appeal before the Directorate for Personnel and Resource Management (DPRM) would be denied.
