(Eagle News) — The suspect in the murder of a woman and her seven-year-old child daughter surrendered to authorities on Thursday.
Ruel Cabatingan surrendered to the Eastern Visayas provincial office around 8 a.m.
Cabatingan is a suspect in the killing of Ruby Gamos, 37, and her child, Shaniah Nicole, whose bodies were found inside their private subdivision in Barangay Navarro on December 11.
The family’s car, television, gadgets and jewelry were missing, according to authorities.
According to investigators, based on social media pictures they traced, Cabatingan was romantically linked to Gamos, and would meet up with her in an apartment in Imus while her husband, a seaman, was away.
The police said Cabatingan, who was seen leaving the victims’ house on December 7, has admitted to committing the crime.
The motive is still unclear.
Charges have been filed against Cabatingan.
