(Eagle News) — Many Filipinos are worried that the current tension between the United States and North Korea will escalate into an armed conflict, the Social Weather Stations said.
According to the pollster, based on its December 2017 survey, a whopping 84 percent expressed this concern.
Sixteen percent were not worried, 12% were not too worried, and 4% were not worried at all, the SWS said.
The survey also found that 88 percent were worried that the Philippines would be involved if the tension between the US and North Korea does escalate into an armed conflict.
Of the 88 percent, 55 percent were worried a great deal, and 33 percent were somewhat worried.
Twelve percent were not worried, the SWS said.
The survey, conducted from December 8-16, 2017, made use of face-to-face interviews of 1,200 adults. nationwide: 300 each in Metro Manila, Balance Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao.
Sampling error margins were pegged at ±3% for national percentages, and ±6% each for Metro Manila, Balance Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao.
