(Eagle News) — Almost 50 percent of Filipinos expect their quality of life to improve in the next 12 months, a recent Social Weather Stations survey said.
The survey held from December 8 to 16, 2017 yielded a 4-point increase in the resulting net personal optimism score from the rating in September last year.
The SWS said the December rating, +46, “matches the record-high level that was first achieved in June 2016.”
It is classified as “excellent,” based on SWS standards.
According to the pollster, the December 2017 survey also found that 52% are optimistic that the Philippine economy next year will get better.
Only 9% feel it will deteriorate, resulting in a net optimism rating about the economy of +42, the SWS said.
The SWS the rating, which was classified as “excellent,” is 12 points above the +30 net optimism rating recorded in September 2017.
The pollster said it is the highest since the +43 registered in December 2016.
The SWS said that the survey also found that 41% said their quality of lives improved.
Only 18 percent said it worsened.
The +23 net gainers score is a new record-high, and is classified as excellent, the SWS said.
