(Eagle News)–The Duterte administration’s net satisfaction rating rose to a record-high +72, with increases across all geographical areas, in a recent Social Weather Stations survey.
The SWS said that the +72 obtained in the survey done from March 28 to 31 translated to 81% of adult Filipinos satisfied, 10% neither satisfied nor dissatisfied, and 9% dissatisfied with the administration’s general performance.
Classified as “excellent,” the +72 is 6 points above the very good +66 obtained by the administration in December 2018, and 2 points above the previous record of excellent +70.
Subjects
Based on the survey results, out of 11 specific performance subjects rated, net satisfaction ratings of the Duterte administration were excellent in helping the poor (new record-high +72); very good in reconstructing Marawi City (+58) and fighting terrorism (+58); good in fighting crimes (+48), reconciling with Communist rebels (a new record-high +45), reconciling with Muslim rebels (+44), eradicating graft and corruption (+41), foreign relations (+41), defending Philippine sovereignty in the West Philippine Sea (+40), and ensuring that no family will ever be hungry(+37); and moderate in fighting inflation (+22).
The rise in the administration’s overall net satisfaction rating was due to increases in all areas, the SWS said.
It rose from very good to excellent in the Visayas, up by 11 points from the +63 in December 2018, stayed excellent in Mindanao, with an increase of 6 points from the +75 in December, stayed very good in Balance Luzon, with a rise by 3 points from the +65 in December, and stayed very good in Metro Manila, an increase of 5 points from the +60 in December.
Rural net satisfaction also rose from very good to excellent, up by 7 points from the +65 in December, while urban net satisfaction improved from very good to excellent, an increase of 3 points from the +68 in December.
Classes
Net satisfaction with the administration was an excellent among members of Class D, at +72, from the very good +65 in December.
It was also an excellent in class ABC, at +73, hardly moving from the +72 in December.
Among members of Class E, the administration’s rating declined however from excellent to very good, down by 2 points from the +70 in December.
By sex, the rating rose from very good to excellent among men, up by 4 points from +69, and among women, up by 7 points from +64.
By age group, it also rose from very good to excellent —among those aged 18 to 24, the rating of +80 was an increase of 16 points, among those aged 35 to 44 , the +75 was an increase of eight points, and among the 45 to 54-year-olds, the +75 was an increase from the +68 in December.
Among 55-year-olds and above, the administration’s rating stayed at very good, up by 4 points from the +63 in December.
However, the rating declined from excellent to very good among the 25 to 34-year-olds, at +67 from the +71 in December.
By educational level, net satisfaction with the administration stayed excellent among college graduates, an increase by four points from the +73 in December, rose from very good to excellent among elementary graduates, from +67 in December to +73, and among high school graduates, from +65 to +71.
“It stayed very good among non-elementary graduates, up by 4 points from +64 in December to +68 in March,” the SWS said.
Survey background
The survey made use of face-to-face interviews of 1,440 adults nationwide: 360 each in Balance Luzon, Metro Manila, the Visayas, and Mindanao.
Sampling error margins were pegged at ±2.6% for national percentages, and ±5% each for Balance Luzon, Metro Manila, the Visayas, and Mindanao.
