(Eagle News)–Net satisfaction with the administration’s war against illegal drugs remains at “excellent,” based on a recent Social Weather Stations survey.
The SWS survey conducted from June 22 to 26 found that 82% of adult Filipinos were satisfied , 6%, undecided and 12% dissatisfied, giving a net satisfaction rating of +70.
The net satisfaction rating ties the excellent+70 recorded in March.
Net satisfaction with the campaign has always been either very good or excellent in the past 11 survey rounds, with the highest satisfaction rating recorded in December 2016 at an excellent+77.
Of the 82% who say they are satisfied, 40 percent say this was because drug suspects have lessened.
Following this most common reason is drug suspects have been arrested, at 18%, and lessened crime, at 13%.
The other top five reasons are for satisfaction are the following: It diminished the drug trade (8%), and Improved peace and order (5%).
Other responses got single-digit scores.
On the other hand, of the 12% dissatisfied with the anti-illegal drugs campaign, the most common reason is drug trade/drug suspects are still prevalent, at 42%, followed by too many killings, at 31%; abuse of power and bias in the operations, at 12%; too many wrongful suspects/arrests/mistaken identity, at 9%, and drug suspects are being killed, at 2%.
The rest obtained marginal scores.
The survey was conducted using face-to-face interviews of 1,200 adults nationwide: 300 each in Metro Manila, Balance Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao.
Sampling error margins were pegged at ±3% for national percentages, and ±6% each for Metro Manila, Balance Luzon, the Visayas, and Mindanao.
