SWS: President Duterte’s net trust rating still “very good”

(Eagle News) —  Three out of four Filipinos still have “much trust” in President Rodrigo Duterte, a recent Social Weather Stations survey said.

According to results of the survey conducted from March 23 to 27,  76 percent of the 1,200 respondents have “much trust” in the President, with only 10 percent with little trust, and 14 percent undecided.

The pollster said Duterte’s net trust rating of +65, while a 10-point decline from the +75 in December 2017, was still classified by the SWS as “very good.”

According to SWS, net trust rating of the President in Mindanao, while five points less than the +94 he got in December 2017,  remained “excellent,” at +89.

His rating went down by six points in the Visayas, from +76 in December 2017 to +70, but this remained at “excellent,” SWS said.

In Balance Luzon, Duterte’s net trust rating was also down by 3 points from the +56 he got in December 2017, although SWS said this remained “very good.”

In Metro Manila, Duterte’s net trust rating fell by one grade, from the excellent rating he got in December 2017, at +73, to a very good, at +62.

 

President Duterte’s rating also remained “excellent” among college graduates, and was a “very good” among those with lower educational attainment, the SWS said.

The survey made use of face-to-face interviews of 1,200 adults  nationwide: 300 each in Metro Manila, Balance Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao.

Sampling error margins were pegged at ±3% for national percentages, and ±6% each for Metro Manila, Balance Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao, according to the pollster.
