Syrian towns receive humanitarian aid

AID convoys have delivered much-needed humanitarian aid to several towns in Syria over the past two days.

The town of al-Moadamiya in southwestern Damascus Countryside Governorate received 2,500 cases of aid including food and medicine from the governorate authorities and the Syrian Arab Red Crescent on Tuesday and Wednesday.

The rebel-held town, which has around 45,000 residents living there, is besieged by government forces.

The Chinese Embassy in Syria on Wednesday provided supplies including quilts and blankets to residents of the town of Jaramana. Chinese Ambassador to Syria Wang Kejian signed a donation agreement with a local delegation.

“We want to thank the Chinese Embassy and ambassador for informing us that the Chinese people prepared humanitarian aid including blankets for people here affected by the war, especially for civilians in Jaramana,” said Samir Qarqout, a member of the delegation.

The delegation said there are currently more than two million refugees in Jaramana, which is located 10 kilometers southeast of the Syrian capital.

The town of Al-Tall in the governorate also received aid on Wednesday. (CCTV)
