(Reuters) — The first trailer for 2017 adventure thriller ‘The Mummy’ starring Tom Cruise has been unveiled.

The franchise was a surprise box-office success when it was released 18 years ago starring Brendan Fraser, now it is being rebooted with Tom Cruise and Russell Crowe.

The film follows the story of vengeful Princess Ahmanet who is awoken from her slumber after being discovered by Cruise’s character Nick Morton.

It’s directed by Alex Kurtzman, and was filmed in Oxford, England and also features Annabelle Wallis, Jake Johnson and Sofia Boutella who is the first female actress to play the lead villain in the Mummy franchise.
