Thunderstorm advisory hoisted over Mindanao

(Eagle News) — A thunderstorm advisory was hoisted over Mindanao on Thursday, June 20.

The Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said moderate to heavy rainshowers are being experienced in Sultan Kudarat, Sarangani, South Cotabato, Misamis Occidental within the next 1 to 2 hours.

The same conditions are being experienced in Laak, Montevista, Nabunturan, Mawab and New Bataan in Compostela Valley; Baganga in Davao Oriental; Kapalong, San Isidro and Montevista in Davao del Norte; Carmen, President Roxas, Antipas, Tulunan in North Cotabato; Baungon, Manolo Fortich, Malitbog, Talakag, Sumilao, Libona, Impasug-ong, Malaybalay and Damulog in Bukidnon; Sibagat and Bayugan in Agusan del Sur; San Miguel in Surigao del Sur; Claveria, Cagayan de Oro, Opol in Misamis Oriental; and Las Nieves, Buenavista in Agusan del Norte.

PAGASA said the conditions may persist within 1 to 2 hours and may affect nearby areas.

“All are advised to take precautionary measures against the impact associated with these hazards which include flash floods and landslides.Keep monitoring for updates,” PAGASA said.
