(Eagle News) — Senator Antonio Trillanes IV on Friday, July 20, said he expects President Rodrigo to “rant and lie like he always does” in his third State of the Nation Address on Monday, July 23.
In a short statement posted on his Facebook page, Trillanes said he expected Duterte to “rant about illegal drugs,” but not “utter a single word” about the P6.4-billion shabu shipment.
Earlier, Trillanes linked Duterte’s son Paolo to the shipment, but the presidential son denied the allegations.
“Particularly, (Duterte) would likely create a false bleak scenario for our country to justify the need for (Charter Change) and shift to federalism as soon as possible,” Trillanes said.
President Duterte is slated to hold his third SONA in the Batasang Pambansa in Quezon City.
The Quezon City government has suspended classes on that day.
The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority, on the other hand, also announced a traffic rerouting scheme for motorists.
