Senator Antonio Trillanes IV on Friday filed several charges against Presidential Communications Assistant Secretary Mocha Uson after she allegedly disseminated false information on social media to destroy his credibility.
Trillanes filed three counts of libel under the Cybercrime Prevention Act against Uson, and took her to task for alleged grave misconduct, falsification of public documents, violation of the Anti-Graft and Corrupt Practices Act, and violation of the Code of Conduct and Ethical Standards, over her release to the public of photographs of the offshore bank accounts which she alleged to be the senator’s.
He also asked the Ombudsman to sack Uson.
“Binabadmouth ako, I’m holding my peace. Nagkalat ng pekeng impormasyon na diretso sa credibility ko as a public official,” Trillanes said.
“Kumuha ka ng magagaling na abugado dahil mabibigat itong kaso laban sa iyo,” he added.
In her defense, Uson said that she used the term “alleged” in her post, which means she did not conclude outright the bank accounts were the senator’s in the first place.
