Tropical Depression “Henry” to reach Babuyan Islands vicinity on Monday night

(Eagle News) — Expect rains in several parts of the country as Tropical Depression “Henry” reaches the vicinity of the Babuyan Group of Islands on Monday night, July 16.

In its 11 a.m. bulletin, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said as of 10 a.m. “Henry” was located 415 kilometers east of Calayan, Cagayan, packing maximum sustained winds of 55 kilometers per hour near the center, and with gustiness of up to 65 kilometers per hour.

“Henry” is moving west at 25 kilometers per hour.

Signal number one has been hoisted over Batanes, northern portion of Cagayan including Babuyan Group of Islands, northern portion of Apayao, and northern portion of Ilocos Norte, which means occasional rains with gusty winds are expected in those areas.

The southwest monsoon  will also bring monsoon rains over Metro Manila, Zambales, Bataan, Cavite, Batangas, Mindoro Provinces, Palawan and Western Visayas, and scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms over the rest of Luzon, PAGASA said.
