(Eagle News) — Tropical Depression “Salome” slightly intensified on Thursday as it moved toward Ticlao Island in Masbate.
In its 11 a.m. advisory, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said there will be moderate to heavy rainfall within the 250-kilometer diameter of “Salome.”
As of 10 a.m., PAGASA said the center of “Salome,” which is packing maximum winds of up to 55 kilometers per hour near the center and gustiness of up to 90 kilometers per hour, was spotted 50 kilometers south southwest of Juban, Sorsogon.
Signal Number one has been hoisted over Rizal, Metro Manila, Bataan, Camarines Sur, Camarines Norte, Albay, Sorsogon, Catanduanes, Masbate including Ticao and Burias Islands, Quezon, Laguna, Batangas, Cavite, Marinduque, Romblon, Northern Samar, Eastern Samar, Samar, Leyte including Biliran, Oriental Mindoro and Occidental Mindoro.
The tropical depression is expected to move west at 25 kilometers per hour.
It is expected to leave the Philippine Area of Responsibility by Saturday morning.
