(Eagle News) — Expect heavy rains in the eastern coast of Central and Northern Luzon on Friday night, as Tropical Storm “Jolina” (international name “Pakhar) intensified.
According to Nikos Penaranda, weather specialist at the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services, as of 7 a.m., “Jolina” was located 210 kilometers southeast of Casiguran, Aurora, packing maximum sustained winds of up to 80 kph near the center, and with gustiness of up to 95 kph, “much higher” than the figure it registered hours earlier.
Penaranda said “Jolina” was expected to move across northern Luzon and eventually “go directly” to southern China.

Signal No. 1 is up over Cagayan including the Babuyan Islands, Apayao, the rest of Aurora, Ilocos Norte, Nueva Ecija, Pangasinan, northern Quezon including Polillo Island, Catanduanes, Camarines Norte and Camarines Sur.
