Trump: ‘Hillary Clinton is guilty’

trumpRepublican presidential nominee Donald Trump said on Sunday (November 6) that his Democratic rival Hillary Clinton is being protected by “a rigged system” after the FBI announced that it would not recommend filing any charges against Clinton over her use of a private email server while secretary of state.

FBI Director James Comey, in a letter to Congress on Sunday, said a review of newly discovered emails did not change the conclusions he announced to Congress last July.

“The FBI investigative team has been working around the clock to process and review a large volume of emails from a device obtained in connection with an unrelated criminal investigation,” Comey said in the letter.

“During that process, we reviewed all of the communications that were to or from Hillary Clinton while she was secretary of state.” But Trump disputed those conclusions.

“You can’t review 650,000 new emails in eight days. You can’t do it,” Trump said at a rally in Sterling Heights, Michigan. “Rank and file special agents at the FBI won’t let her get away with her terrible crimes.” He called on voters to “deliver justice at the ballot box on November 8.”

Trump has been closing the gap between him and Clinton since the FBI announced it was reviewing the new cache of emails just over a week ago. The latest Reuters/Ipsos poll shows Clinton with a 5 percentage point lead over Trump in the national survey – 44 percent to 39 percent support – while races in the swing states of Florida, North Carolina have shifted from Clinton’s control to being too close to call. Both Trump and Clinton spent the final weekend of their campaign rallying supporters in key states such as Florida and Pennsylvania.
