TS ‘Kabayan’ exits landmass; heads towards West Philippine Sea

QUEZON CITY, Oct. 2 (PIA) — Tropical Storm (TS) ‘Kabayan’ has exited landmass and is now heading towards the West Philippine Sea, according to the weather bulletin of Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA).

The weather state bureau said that TS ‘Kabayan’ which carries maximum sustained winds of 65kph and gustiness of up to 80kph, was located today at 70km Northwest of Dagupan City, Pangasinan. It is expected exit the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) today by midnight (11PM to 1AM).

Moderate to occasionally heavy rains and isolated thunderstorms will be experienced over the provinces of Bataan, Zambales, Tarlac and Pangasinan.

Public Storm Warning Signal (PSWS) No. 2 is raised in the provinces of La Union and Pangasinan with a wave height (Open Sea) of 4.1 to 14.0 meters. Meanwhile, PSWS No. 1 is raised in Benguet, Tarlac, Ilocos Sur, and Zambales with a wave height of 1.25 to 4.0 meters.

Residents in low lying and mountainous areas of the provinces with PSWS Nos. 1 & 2 are alerted against possible flashfloods and landslides.
