Roberto Delfin, DoTR supervising transport officer, placed under 90-day suspension
(Eagle News) — Transportation Secretary Art Tugade has ordered the filing of charges against an agency official following allegations he accepted a P150,000 bribe through his aide in exchange for favorable action on a company’s application for a route measure capacity, among others.
Roberto Delfin, the Department of Transportation’s supervising transportation and development officer, was placed under a 90-day preventive suspension pending the results of an investigation into allegations he received the bribe from New Sunrise Transport Cooperative, and its offer of escort services and an all-expense paid accommodation in a private resort.
Tugade has said he would remove officials who would resort to such practices.
“I will not hesitate to remove you from office…The President does not want that,” Tugade said in a statement.
