(Eagle News)–Transportation Secretary Arthur Tugade on Sunday, April 15, ordered the filing of charges against Metro Rail Transit 3 passengers who cause door problems due to their lack of discipline.
Tugade gave the order after thousands of passengers had to be offloaded on Friday, April 13, because of the same reason.
Prior to this, operations in the MRT3 had been running without disruptions after a weeklong maintenance of the trains during the holidays.
“For the last 11 days, there was no unloading, it was smooth. Today, we have the first unloading. Do you know the cause? There was someone who put pressure on the door. Pinilit na pumasok habang sarado na. It’s not about parts, it’s about this passenger. My instruction, identify this person,” Tugade said.
He said “from now on,” damages will also be collected from all passengers who are caught leaning on the train doors or trying to force them open even if they are already closed.
“Maraming naaabala dahil sa kawalan ng disiplina,” he said.
For this, he directed MRT3 personnel to watch the passengers.
He said this was apart from the closed-circuit television cameras that would monitor the commuters in the MRT stations.
