UTAH, United States (Reuters) – A 4-year-old girl, London DeDios, went missing on Monday (May 29) after she had gone into the Provo River near Bridal Veil Falls, Utah County Police said.
The child’s mother, Brenda, along with four adults reportedly jumped into the water in an effort to rescue the girl.
Only three adults came out alive and the 34-year-old mother and Sean Thayne, 30-year-old bystander, were pronounced dead shortly after being pulled out of the water near the mouth of Provo Canyon, local news reported, quoting local officials.
The search for the 4-year-old continues.
