(Eagle News) — Two typhoons have entered the Philippine area of responsibility, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said.
In an advisory, Pagasa said “Lannie” was located 1370 kilometers east of Aparri, Cagayan as of 4 p.m.
“Maring,” on the other hand, a low pressure area that has developed into a tropical depression, is situated 300 km east of Infanta, Quezon as of the same time.
Although “Lannie” does not have a direct effect so far because it is still faraway, Pagasa said “Maring” is expected to bring “moderate to occasionally heavy rains starting today” over Bicol region, Aurora, Calabarzon, Mimaropa, Metro Manila, Bataan, Zambales and Pangasinan.
Signal No. 1 has been hoisted over Catanduanes, Camarines Norte, Camarines Sur, northern Quezon including Polillo Island, Aurora, Quirino and Nueva Ecija.
“Maring,” which is packing maximum sustained winds at 45 kilometers per hour, and gustiness at 60 kph, is expected to make landfall on Tuesday afternoon over the Quezon-Aurora area.
