At 5:00 am today, Typhoon “CHAN-HOM” (international name) outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) was located based on all available data at 1,715 km east of Luzon (17.8°N, 137.9°E) with maximum sustained winds of 120 kph near the center and gustiness f up to 150 kph. It is forecast to move west northwest at 20 kph.
This typhoon is expected to enter the PAR this afternoon or evening (July 07) and will be named “FALCON”. Tomorrow morning, it is expected to be at 1200 km east of Basco, Batanes. By Thursday morning, it is expected to be at 940 km east northeast of Basco, Batanes and at 835 km northeast of Basco, Batanes by Friday morning.
The general public and disaster risk reduction and management councils concerned are advised to monitor for the next weather advisory to be issued at 11:00 am today. (PAGASA)
