(Eagle News) — The embassy of the United Kingdom issued a travel warning on Tuesday advising its citizens to avoid traveling to some parts of western and central Mindanao and to Sulu archipelago due to a terror threat.

In an advisory posted on its website, the Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) told UK nationals to avoid the remainder of Mindanao (excluding Camiguin, Dinagat and Siargao Islands) and  the south of Cebu province, up to and including the municipalities of Dalaguete and Badian, due to the alleged continuous terrorist activity and clashes between the military and insurgent groups.

It also advised its nationals to monitor media reporting and follow the instructions of local authorities.
