PUERTO GALERA, Oriental Mindoro (Eagle News) — A Puerto Galera councilor and his son were killed in what police said was an ambush on Tuesday.

The police said the attack on Councilor Melchor Arago and his youngest son, Kenneth,  took place around 4 p.m.

Witnesses said the first to be shot  by men on board a motorcycle was Arago’s son, who had gotten off their Honda CRV to open the gate of their house in Barangay Small Tabinay so the councilor could park.

After shooting the teenager, the suspects then fired at the councilor.

The police said Kenneth sustained gunshot wounds in the elbow and the head, while his father sustained one in his forehead.

The police are still investigating the incident.
