(Eagle News)– An updated data provided by the Philippine National Police (PNP) on Tuesday showed that there are fewer drug users/pushers who surrendered under Oplan Tokhang than earlier reports.
From 673, 978 (August 23) surrenderees, this number was reduced to 626,556 (August 30). 585,473 were drug users while 41,083 were pushers.
According to PNP spokesperson Senior Superintendent Dionardo Carlos, the previous figure was higher due to errors in inputting the data by regional offices.
“Yung validation team ng Directorate for Operations nagpunta sa mga PROs (Police Regional Offices) at nakita iyong discrepancies kaya nag-correct ng data,” Carlos explained.
As of noon of August 30 , 895 drug suspects have been killed while 12,923 were arrested.
