United States Ambassador to the Philippines, Philip Goldberg, confirmed that there will be a bilateral meeting between President Barack Obama and President Benigno S. Aquino III during the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation Leaders’ or APEC Summit, adding that it is normal for the APEC host country to hold bilateral talks with other countries during said summit to strengthen the relations between the two countries.
Issues to be tackled in the said bilateral talks include the territorial dispute in the West Philippine Sea as well as the Enhanced Defense Cooperation Agreement.
