For some senators, Mocha Uson did just the right thing when she resigned as assistant secretary at the Presidential Communications Operations Office.
“Palagay ko it’s a good move on her part kasi sabi ko nga, ang hirap magbalanse. Blogger ka tapos public official ka, so of course you will be constrained, medyo may konting restriction,” Senator JV Ejercito said.
According to Ejercito now that Uson has resigned, “she has more freedom.”
Senator Antonio Trillanes IV agreed.
“Siyempre iba yung, we hold public officials with higher standards tsaka kumbaga mas controlled ang iyong movement, yung sasabihin mo,” Ejercito said.
Senator Nancy Binay said public officials should be prepared to face any criticisms, whether from Uson or from any other.
“Naku naman sa pinagdaaan ko, ano, parang hindi ba, na-black and blue na nga ako, hindi na nga nawala eh, nag-start na iyong black. It’s part of the job, iyung babatikusin ka, sisiraan na/cut/bilang isang kandidato, kasama iyon eh,” she said.
Trillanes added that with Uson’s resignation, the primary hurdle to government getting across its message has effectively been removed.
