(Eagle News) — Victoria, Laguna Mayor Frankie Almeda has tested positive for COVID-19.

In a Facebook video posted on Aug. 2, Almeda said this was based on results of a test he took on Thursday afternoon.

“Ginawa ko naman po lahat ng protocol, lahat ng pag-iingat..nagkasakit at nahawa ako,” he said.

He said he started not feeling well on Sunday, so he started isolating himself in his room until the time the video was posted.

He said so far, he was feeling a “bit okay,” and had no colds, nor fever or cough.

So far, the Department of Health has reported over 189,000 COVID-19 cases in the country.
