BERLIN, Germany (AFP) — The cast of ‘Fast and Furious 8’ attended the European premiere in Berlin on Tuesday (April 4) where actors Vin Diesel, Charlize Theron and F. Gary Gray were received by hundreds of cheering fans.
‘The Fate of the Furious,’ as the latest movie is known in the United States, sees Dom Toretto (Vin Diesel) go rogue, with his crew, or ‘family’ having to bring him down.
Fast cars, improbable chases and explosions are plentiful; a wrecking ball, a tank and a submarine also make appearances.
“I left the franchise once and I felt like I let the world down,” Diesel told reporters on the red carpet, adding “I left the franchise because the script wasn’t good enough.”
“And then I realized the world doesn’t (care) whether I think the script is good enough. They want Dom and they want me to fight every single day to make that script better and to make the best film that I can,” said Diesel.
The film stars Dwayne Johnson as Hobbs, Michelle Rodriguez as Ortiz, Tyrese Gibson as Roman, Jordana Brewster as Mia, Jason Statham as Deckard Shaw and Charlize Theron as villain Cipher.
The ‘Fast and Furious 8’ will be shown in German cinemas from April 12.
