(Eagle News) — Vice-President Jejomar Binay delivered on Monday (Aug. 3) what he calls the “true State of the Nation” address where he called the Aquino administration as insensitive (manhid) and a failure (palpak).

He said more people are getting poorer and hungrier, and that more people do not have jobs.

Binay, who delivered his speech in Indang, Cavite, cited alleged incompetence and failure of the Aquino government.  He mentioned the government’s handling of the 2010 Manila hostage crisis, Yolanda tragedy, Zamboanga tragedy, and the Mamasapano killings.

He also hit the government’s push for the Bangsamoro Basic Law saying that the executive branch should not coerce or force Congress to pass the bill.

“May kondisyon para magtagal ang kapayapaan. Dapat naayon (ang BBL) sa Saligang batas, kalahok lahat sektor, di dapat ipilit ang pagsasabatas ng BBL.  Dapat igalang ang kongreso bilng co-equal branch ng gobyerno,” Binay said.

He likewise criticized the frequent accidents in the Metro Rail Transit (MRT) and cited how there had been no new trains although funds had been provided for this purpose.

He also took a swipe at the Disbursement Acceleration Program (DAP), saying that funds for these were taken from the budget for the building of roads, bridges, airports, and schools.

While Aquino’s SONA did not mention the SAF 44, Binay acknowledged them and even mentioned the names of the “heroes” of the Special Action Forces of the Philippine National Police.

Binay’s TSONA or counter-SONA was delivered a week after President Aquino’s SONA.

The vice-president, who has been hounded by controversies regarding alleged corruption involving the Makati City Hall building, claimed that Aquino’s “straight path” or “daang matuwid”  would not lead the poor to any good.

“Hindi makakaamit ang tunay na ginhawa sa tuwid na daan na manhid at palpak naman,” he said as he criticized the Aquino administration of which once he had been a part of.

He also downplayed the ability of Interior and Local Government secretary Mar Roxas to lead the country.  Roxas had been chosen by President Aquino to be the standard-bearer of the administration’s Liberal Party.

Binay claims Roxas lacks experience (kapos sa karanasan)

“O kaya’y may karanasan nga, ngunit napatunayang palpak,” Binay claimed.
