(Eagle News) — Vice President Leni Robredo on Thursday said she would be “open to” accepting another Cabinet post.
In an interview over CNN Philippines, Robredo said, however, that so far, she “doe(s not) see” the offer coming.
If it happens though, she said “it is necessary that we discuss things.”
“I would be very much willing to support what (President Rodrigo Duterte) is doing but if there are things that we don’t agree on, kailangan ko talagang sabihin,” she said.
She said that if she dissented in some issues, anyway, it doesn’t mean that she had ambitions for the presidency.
“..When you voice out your dissent, it’s because you want certain things happening to change or certain things happening to stop, it’s not because you want to oust the president,” she said.
Robredo was appointed as chair of the Housing and Urban Development Coordinating Council.
In December 2016, she stepped down from the post after she was told to “desist from attending all Cabinet meetings.”
Several Cabinet members had said she and the President had “irreconcilable differences.”
