(Eagle News) — Vice President Leni Robredo said she was willing to lead the opposition against President Rodrigo Duterte and the administration.
“Maraming mga grupo na pareho naman iyong paniniwala. Maraming mga grupo na pareho naman iyong mga issues na gustong salungatin. Pero dahil hindi nag-usap-usap, hindi napapag-isa iyong boses. At iyon iyong role na gusto kong i-take,” she said.
According to Robredo, although she has already been taking on the role, several groups asked her to do the same in an official capacity.
Although she obliged, she said “kailangan pag-usapan ‘yung terms.”
“As I’ve said earlier, hindi pa tapos ‘yung usapan, pero ‘yung pinaka-unang concern, ano ‘yung issues na paga-agreehan,” she said.
She said some of the concerns include the coming out with an opposition slate for the 2019 elections on or before September.
The filing of certificates for candidacy for 2019 electoral bets starts on the first week of October.
“Yung purpose lang naman ng pag-unite is to have one voice. Mahirap kasi kung lahat-lahat maingay, mahirap kung ang daming nagsasalita ng sabay-sabay, lalong hindi naririnig,” she said.
