CHENGDU CITY, Sichuan Province, southwest China (CCTV) — It may be an easy life for panda cubs at the Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding in southwest China’s Sichuan Province as they tease their handlers day in and day out. One such cub, named Qiyi, did exactly that in the latest video from the base.
In the video recorded last Monday, Qiyi’s handler tried hard to persuade it to return to the room after spending some time outside. However, the trickster had other plans as it looked like it was following the handler back inside until it stopped and made a quick turn back to the play area. The handler was then forced to pick up Qiyi and carry it back, but once again the cub got the upper hand and made its way back outside.
Appearing to be happy with being outside, Qiyi decided it would be a good idea for the handler to go back inside as the cub attempted to chase her away. However, the handler would win in the end as she scooped up Qiyi and carried it back indoors.
In another video, which was recorded on Friday, Qiyi’s curiosity almost got it into a serious predicament. With Qiyi’s mother standing on its hind legs at the door
to see what was going on inside, the cub thought it was a good idea to squeeze its head under to see what was going on.
Luckily, Qiyi moved away or else it would have been one serious headache for the cub if its mother sat down.
