(Eagle News) — Indonesian President Joko Widodo said he was “extremely happy” for the warm welcome that Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte and the Philippine government had given to him and his delegation
During the state banquet for the Indonesian leader Friday night in Malacanag, Widodo also cited the many common qualities that he and President Duterte both have.
“We were both mayors of medium-sized cities,” he said.
“I believe that you and I are not fancy people. I believe that you and I are driven by healthy common sense and by love for our people,” he added.
The state banquet was given on the eve of the ASEAN Summit which is to be held on Saturday, April 29, 2017 in Manila.
