Weapons, ammunition from China, to be of great use in Marawi City conflict – AFP

QUEZON City, Philippines (Eagle News) — Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) spokesman Brigadier General Restituto Padilla said that the weapons donated by China will be of great help in their fight against the Maute Group in Marawi City.

Padilla said that the weapons from China are easier to handle because they are similar to what Philippine soldiers are already using.

The weapons donated by the Chinese government include 300 rifles, five million live ammunition rounds, and long-range rifles.

Aside from the military equipment, China also donated 15 million pesos for the rehabilitation of Marawi City.
