World leaders arrive in PHL for ASEAN Summit

(Eagle News) — World leaders, including those from the Association of Southeast Asian Nations and partner countries, have started arriving for the historic 31st ASEAN Summit and related summits in the Philippines.

The planes carrying Malaysian Prime Minister Najon Razak, New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern, Singaporean Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong, Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, Thai Prime Minister Prayuth Chan-o-cha, South Korea President Moon Jae-In, Australia Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull,  Vietnamese President Tran Dai Quang, Vietnamese Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc and Chinese Premier Li Keqiang all landed at the Clark International Airport after lunch.

Earlier, other world leaders such as Indonesia President Joko Widodo, Cambodia Prime Minister Hun Sen, Myanmar State Counsellor Aung San Suu Kyi, and Laos Prime Minister  Thongloun Sisoulith arrived in the country for the summit, which will begin on Monday, Nov. 13.

The arrival of other leaders such as US President Donald Trump was not covered by media due to security reasons.
