The Philippine Arena, touted as the “world’s largest indoor stadium” will be inaugurated today, July 21, 2014, barely a week before the centennial celebration of the religious group Iglesia Ni Cristo (INC).
The Philippine Arena, commissioned by the INC, can be found in the Ciudad de Victoria complex. INC Executive Minister Eduardo V. Manalo will lead the historical event along with President Benigno Aquino III.
Apart from the 55,000-seater arena, other major structures are expected to be completed soon including the Philippine Stadium, the Philippine Sports Center, the Eraño G. Manalo Medical Center, the New Era Sports Academy, as well as various shops, hotels, and leisure parks.
The inauguration is just one of the many planned events for the INC centennial celebration next Sunday, July 27, which Malacanang already declared as a special non-working holiday.
Other government officials are also scheduled to attend the inauguration, including Vice President Jejomar Binay.
