CCTV – The world’s top downhill bikers gathered on a scenic mountain in the picturesque Zhangjiajie City in central China’s Hunan Province this weekend to compete in a downhill bike racing championship.

The 13 international riders, who came from the United States, France, Italy, Spain, Canada and Brazil, raced down a challenging course remodeled from a 999-step staircase on the mountain. The riders also performed impressive stunt jumps to the admiration of the gathered crowds.

After two days of intense competitions, American professional BMX rider Nicholi Rogatkin claimed the title for the skills competition by scoring 96.3 points, while Brazilian biker Bernado Cruz won the downhill racing championship in a scintillating time of just over 15.1 seconds.

“In my opinion that was the hardest course I’ve ridden in my whole life. Yeah, it’s fun to ride but it’s dangerous, and I think it was good to be here, different experience,” said Cruz after the award ceremony.
