“The eagle has no fear of adversity. We need to be like the eagle and have a fearless spirit of a conqueror!” – Joyce Meyer
Leading and giving commands to a group or an organization is not easy. Different leaders, of course, possess different leadership styles that his members may or may not want. Leaders can be compared to an eagle, soaring alone as it surveys those under it.
The comparison is even more apt than one would think. The eagle has various characteristics that a good leader should possess.
Keen Vision
The eagle is well-known for its keen vision. From 50 miles away, they can spot everything especially prey. They are very observant.
Famous American business magnate, investor and philanthropist Warren Edward Buffett said that he always knew he was going to be rich and he never doubted it even for a minute. Just like Buffett, in order for a leader to succeed, he must have an eagle’s eye view. Every time you set a goal, don’t just look at the things that are attainable at the present. Try to figure out the things that are not yet in sight and consider the things that happened in the past for you to able to achieve the vision you set.
Fearlessness
Another thing that a good leader must adopt from the eagle is its fearlessness. An eagle is known for its courage. It will never surrender to its prey no matter how big or small or how strong it is.
When a storm comes, other birds fly away, but an eagle spreads its wings and soars to greater heights. No matter how difficult and impossible the situations are, the word QUIT is not part of their dictionary. A successful leader is fearless, they face problems without running away.
A good leader is a good teacher
A good leader is a good teacher. Strong and fearless as it is, the eagle is also known for nurturing their young ones.
A boss is different from a leader. A boss is someone who gives commands without making his or her subordinates grow, while a leader is the very opposite. A good leader has the goal of making his or her subordinates be like him or her someday. He or she will teach and guide just like a mother eagle does.
I personally believe that every individual can be a good leader; we just need to embrace the truth that this is possible, and work hard for it.
