Zarate, Colmenares dismiss as “absurd” allegations they were part of supposed oust Duterte plot

(Eagle News)–Bayan Muna Rep. Carlos Zarate and  chair Neri Colmenares has dismissed as “absurd” allegations linking them to a supposed plot to oust President Rodrigo Duterte.

“The wild allegations linking me to a supposed plot involving Bikoy and members of the media is utterly false and ridiculous,” Colmenares said.

According to Colmenares, he was so busy campaigning for the elections he did not even have time to watch the other two videos which featured “Bikoy.”

“Bikoy” who has not been identified has linked members of the Duterte family, including the President’s daughter Veronica, to the illegal drug trade.

Zarate, for his part, said the administration kept on repeating itself with the same allegations, recalling the Red October plot floated by the Armed Forces of the Philippines and the police.

“One can also see the coordinated pattern of attacks that they are doing now against the opposition before the elections to camouflage and justify the dirty operations they plan to do during election day itself,” he said.

Apart from Colmenares, Zarate and “Bikoy,” the matrix that detailed the supposed plot to oust Duterte linked several media personalities such as Howie Severino and Ellen Tordesillas to the same.

The matrix also linked Rappler, the Philippine Center of Investigative Journalism, among others, to the supposed plot.
