(Eagle News) — John Paul Solano named at least seven people behind the death of hazing victim Horacio Castillo III.
Senator Miguel Zubiri said according to Solano, of the figure, at least six were members of the Aegis Juris fraternity, while one was a non-member.
Zubiri said Solano gave the information during a Senate executive session attended by himself, and Senators Panfilo Lacson, Bam Aquino, and Sherwin Gatchalian on Monday evening.
The executive session lasted for an hour.
According to Zubiri, apart from the seven names, Solano, accompanied by his lawyer, narrated the events that took place on Sept. 17, prior to Castillo’s death.
“He mentioned a lot of details. Maganda ang salaysay niya kaya this would be very important sa case na ipa-file ng Manila Police,” Zubiri said.
Hazing rites
According to Zubiri, it also appears the medical technologist’s claim he was not in the hazing rites was true.
He said this was because there was footage from a closed-circuit television camera that showed Solano was in another place when the rites took place in the fraternity’s library.
“Hindi talaga nag-aattend siya ng mga hazing kasi anti-violence siya. Siya rin, binugbog din daw siya as a neophyte,” Zubiri said in a radio interview.
Even then, he said Solano was a “credible witness” as he was in the crime scene, and was “willing to tell all.”
“Maganda pong salaysay ang binigay niya kagabi,” he said.
